Indian High Commissioner presents his credentials to the Queen

High Commissioner of India, H.E. Mr. Navtej Sarna presented his credentials to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom at the Buckingham Palace on 16 March 2016 at 1200 hrs. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Avina Sarna, the Deputy High Commissioner and senior officers of the High Commission.

High Commissioner Sarna is the 25thHigh Commissioner of India to the UK since 1947. He was earlier Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs of India and took up his assignment as the High Commissioner of India to the UK in January 2016.

High Commissioner conveyed greetings from the President and Prime Minister of India to Her Majesty the Queen and reiterated the commitment of the Government of India to work towards implementation of the roadmap agreed to during the visit of Prime Minister Modi to the UK in November 2015.

After the presentation of Credentials, the High Commissioner and Dr. Sarna hosted a reception at their residence for dignitaries including Members of Parliament, senior officials from the UK Government, Heads of Diplomatic Missions in the UK and representatives from business groups and media.
