Mourning family and friends paid their last respects to two young victims of a rash road race. Sanjay Singh, 10, and his brother Pawanveer, 23 months, were with their mother in her BMW, when they were tragically hit and killed by an Audi S3 on Birmingham New Road, Wolverhampton, on March 14. Both children were pronounced dead at the scene while their mother remains seriously injured in hospital. Onlookers informed the family got caught in a race between a high-powered Bentley and Audi.

Yesterday, hundreds of tearful mourners gathered at the scene of the crash to pay tribute to the brothers during their funeral. The funeral procession, which arrived at around 8 am, was led by a white horse-drawn carriage carrying the coffins of the two brothers. Breaking every one's hearts, people also left balloons at the scene to mark Pawanveer's second birthday.

A first aider at the scene informed that the BMW had been stopped at the lights as it waited to turn right into Lawnswood Avenue at around 8.45 pm when the Audi flew crashing in. While the driver fled the scene on foot, a 31 year old man who was driving a Bentley at the time was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was released pending further investigation. A second driver was arrested later.

A nearby resident has reported hearing the mother of the children screaming "My babies, My babies" after the crash. Another resident said he believed the other two cars involved were "racing". He said, "I didn't see it but I heard it- two cars must have been racing. My son ran to the window and said 'they are racing dad' and then we heard an almighty bang."

Meanwhile, family of the victims released a statement through the West Midlands Police. They said, "Our family are grieving over the tragic deaths of our two beautiful children, as well as dealing with the shock of the horrific crash. At this time, we would appreciate some privacy and space to grieve over our precious loss."

A GoFundMe page has also been set up for the family of the two boys along with a petition to stop street racing in the area. Laura Baker, who set up both pages said, "I would like to urge people to help make a difference. The family are aware of the petition and are overwhelmed with the support.
