Waseem Akhtar, 24, from Manor Park died from a fatal motorbike crash when he collided with a cyclist before crashing into the back of a parked van on the A12 in Romford at 2:40pm, last Wednesday. The cyclist, in his forties, was hospitalised but is in a 'stable' condition.

Waseem's girlfriend Shanaye St George, 21, was completely heartbroken while she laid flowers by the side of his dual carriageway. “He was my true childhood sweetheart. He was only 24, had his whole life to live and I was going to be part of that ... None of us know how this could have happened, he was such a safe rider.” Waseem was an off-licence worker and mechanic.
