The 150th birth anniversary of Shastriji Maharaj was celebrated on a grand scale in Vadodara, Gujarat on 24th January 2015 in the presence of senior sadhus as well as distinguished guests, including the Governor of Gujarat, Om Prakash Kohli. More than 150,000 devotees and volunteers who gathered for the occasion pledged to contribute towards a cleaner India. By the inspiration of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, over the next one year, 9,300 public places in 3,800 cities, towns and villages will be cleaned. Amore than 16,000 volunteers will visit homes in under-privileged areas to generate awareness. Cleanliness awareness workshops will be held in 500 schools and 200 cleanliness awareness rallies will also be organised.

Celebrations were also held at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London. The year-long festivities focusing on Shastriji Maharaj climaxed with an enlightening production exploring the ‘Man’, ‘Mission’ and ‘Message’. The dramatisation was supported with emotive video presentations, devotional singing by children and youths, and insightful discourses from sadhus, revealing a deeper understanding of Shastriji Maharaj’s life and work.
