When walking by the noisy streets of London, what one would certainly not expect to see is a colourful and rather quirky food stall selling Kolkata's famous Jhal Muri. The Everybody Love Love Jhal Muri Express on Portobelle Road in London dishes up the spicy, tangy, Indian street snack, all thanks to British chef Angus Denoon, who is a fan of the food himself.

His encounter with the Indian treat was during his first trip to India. Denoon loved Jhal Muri so much, he brought back with him a lot more than just memories of the snack. When asked in an interview, how the business started off, he said, "When I first came back from filming in Kolkata on the street food a production company wanted to do a pilot for, they asked me to make a dish from Kolkata and the only dish I felt confident to cook was Jhal Muri because there is no cooking. I assembled the basics from a trip to Southall along with some stainless steel pots, made a couple of masala mixes and set off to market."

Boosting his confidence was the surge of people who absolutely fell in love with his dish. Everybody loved the dish so much, the chef created his own variations of the snack. His stall now also serves ghooghni chat, gupchup, dhokla and lassi.
