Living wage undermining growth boost warning

The Institute for Public Policy Research has warned that the the British government's plan to boost growth and raise living standards is being impaired by the introduction of the National Living Wage and is ignoring one of the most crucial sectors of the UK economy.

The UK's leading progressive think tank said there was already evidence that the introduction of the National Living Wage by Chancellor George Osborne would add to business costs sans providing the boost to productivity that policymakers envisage.
