Following a funding package from NatWest and Lloyds Banking Group leading pharmaceutical wholesaler Lexon has announced the acquisition of Vittoria Healthcare, a group of pharmacies covering the local communities of North Wales, Wirral and Cheshire. With pharmacy chains Knights and Norchem already in its portfolio the wholesaler now brings its tally of pharmacies to 67.
In April this year Lexon's director Nitin Sodha was elected chair of the National Pharmacy Association (NPA).
Lexon has a workforce of more than 1,000 employees across its distribution hubs in Redditch, Durham.
Pritesh Sonpal, Director of Lexon UK Ltd, said: “The purchase of Vittoria Healthcare, which has 11 pharmacies, enables Lexon to expand further into the North West and Wales utilising the existing distribution hubs. This further supports our core business that distributes pharmaceuticals to over 1800 independent pharmacies daily across the UK and Ireland.”
