15-year-old Jamal from Syria has come out in gratitude to all the people part of the 'Go Fund Me' campaign which raised close to £130,000 for his family.
Earlier in the week, a video had surfaced online where the schoolboy was gripped by the throat and had water poured over his face in a bullying attack at Almondbury Community School in Huddersfield.
Mirban Aslam who organised the protest said that the “system” had failed Jamal and his family. Aslam was shocked that it had taken West Yorkshire police so long to summon the alleged attacked to court to face a charge of assault.
The family is said to use the raised money in relocating to another part of the UK.
