Sadguru Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami, the head of Gurukul Parivar and the Swaminarayan Gurukul, Ahmedabad believes that Sanatan roots help us to maintain unity and integrity in our family, community and world. It’s time for Hindu Dharma followers to unite otherwise there will be a big loss to this ancient and noble religion. Swami Shri is on the UK’s spiritual tour from 29 May to 30 July 2023. Till 10 June 2023 from 6 pm to 8 pm, he will be delivering Sahajanand Vyakhyanmala at Shree Kutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple, Kenton, Harrow. In a special talk at the Kenton Mandir, he said, “Unity is the main pillar of Hindu Dharma, and this blend of Unity in Diversity cannot be seen in any other religion in the World. This diversity is just like a Garden having a variety of Flowers, all having different colours, fragrances and sizes but having the same vision and goal. It’s like the flow of rivers, they originate from different places and flow on different paths but get united in the Sea. The same is with Hindu Dharma, there are various Panth but they are united with one Param Tatva. Every Hindu should know who they are.” Talking about the Ancient Gurukul education, Swami Shri added, “It was the most successful way of educating society. That’s why Bharat (India) was the Golden Sparrow at that time. Our Gurukuls were world-famous. Today people worldwide select Oxford, Cambridge or Harvard Universities and in ancient times they used to go to Takshshila and Nalanda universities. They were not religious universities even then the pillars were established on the values of Dharma, panth and Spirituality. The whole concept of Gurukul education was for the betterment of the whole world.” Madhavpriyadas Ji said, “The Gurukul system is versatile and progressive. The three main pillars of the ancient education system were: Absolute faith in the Param Satta, respect and affection between Guru-Shishya and the most important part were, the Gurus were not selling the education, they were distributing the education. There was very much concern and care about Mother Nature. We used to worship trees in the Chaitnya Swaroop. The Western world didn’t understand this and now all are facing Global warming. The ancient Gurukul education was for earning and learning morals and duties. The Guru-Shishya relationship was a lifelong relationship.” Talking about family values, he said, “To respect elders and worship women are some of the rare values we have. Language is the glue of bonding and the true definition of any culture. The young generation must be taught about family unity, affection, and mutual growth. If a language is in danger, there is a direct threat to the culture. Give the knowledge of the best essence of Hindu Sanskriti in English to the young generation so that they could remain connected with their roots. For this, we need mass awakening on the world level.” He further added, “I want to say to the people of the UK, you are earning from your Karmabhumi, excess facilities and benefits but don’t misuse your right. Always use your earnings for good work. In the same way, Bharat is your Matrubhumi. Your roots, bond and affection must be maintained. The young generation should get rid of any kind of addiction. They must understand the Supreme Tatva of Hindu Dharma.”
