Christmas arrives with a sparkle of joy, and plenty of sweet treats. From cookies to festive cakes and chocolates, people eagerly indulge in the season’s flavours. It’s a time when sharing homemade goodies and enjoying comforting bakes becomes part of the celebration itself.

Speaking to Asian Voice, Janannie Rangaswamy who owns a small business named ‘A Baker’s Confession’ in Basingstoke said, “As the festive season draws near, my kitchen once again becomes the heart of my home. A place where familiar aromas return, memories are reawakened, and new creations begin to take shape. Christmas has always been my favourite time to bake, and each year brings a new chance to share tradition through creativity.

“My 2023 Christmas collection celebrated classic holiday charm with fondant-covered sugar cookies embossed with “Merry Christmas,” alongside mini Santa cookies and playful Elf-on-the-Shelf designs in traditional red and green. I also introduced Paint-Your-Own cookies, which quickly became a family favourite, inviting both children and adults to add their own artistic flair before enjoying each sweet bite. This year, I am proud to offer my signature Christmas fruit cake. They are rich, spiced cake packed with soaked fruits and matured slowly to develop a deep, festive flavour. Dense, moist, and fragrant, it is the kind of cake meant to be savoured during quiet December moments or shared at holiday gatherings. Christmas, to me, is about connection; connecting with memory, with creativity, and with the people who welcome my bakes into their celebrations. It is a season that reminds me why I began baking in the first place: to create not only desserts, but experiences that linger long after the last crumb is gone,” she added.
