Reading's Indian community came out in force to create a sea of colour to celebrate the Holi Festival.

Around 1,000 people turned up to this year's event at Rivermead Leisure Centre, in Richfield Avenue, to have a huge celebration.

The festival is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India, and is known as the "Festival of Colours".

As part of the celebration, people colour each other in with water colours and powder.

Visitors to the event got to see a Holika play, which tells the story of the origins of the festival, put on by local childrem.

There was also a "Colours of India" Fashion Show and Indian dancing displays on Lord Krishna.
