Shree Prajapati Association UK in partnership with all Hindu organisations wants to understand the impact of the Covid-19 on Hindu communities in the UK. Covid-19 has turned everyone’s lives upside down and has impacted adversely on all Asian, black and ethnic minority (BAME) communities in the UK. Many Hindu lives have been taken by the Covid-19 pandemic and we need to understand and be prepared for the coming months and may be for the next few years, the survey notes.
Hindu communities have made huge sacrifices by putting their lives on hold and distanced themselves from friends and family during the lockdown or the numbers could have been far worse. The incredible groups of volunteers across the Hindu sector have worked hard to support our communities and others throughout the Covid-19 crisis
The survey aims to highlight the government’s failure in recognising the needs of the Hindu community in making their policy decision without consultation and the adverse impact the pandemic has had on the community. It reads, “We want the survey to identify what measures and help organisations would need to put in place to ensure that we can provide the necessary support to British Hindus going forward.”
The survey is designed to elicit the following:
a. How individuals and key workers have been affected by the coronavirus
b. What support if any have individuals and organisation received from Government as well as local Hindu association / organisations
c. What support (if any) members of the Hindu community may have received from any other groups or organisations.
