Heartfelt Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in a unique multilingual and multifaith meeting by the British Indian community

On behalf of the British Indian community on Monday 12th September, Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar held a prayer meeting via Zoom. It was a unique multilingual and multifaith meeting in which people paid tribute to the late Queen and pledged loyal service to our new King Charles III.

Prayer for universal peace was offered by Dr MN Nadakumara (Executive Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, UK Centre). Japanese Buddhist Monk Bhikkhu G Nagase paid tribute by chanting and drumming for world peace, Navkar maha-mantra was offered by Hemaben Rachhoya, Jewish Prayer was offered by Zaki Cooper (Co-Chair, British Indian Jewish Association), Zoroastrian prayer was offered by Malcolm Deboo (President, The Zoroastrian Trust Funds of Europe). Prayers from the Sikh community were offered by Parminder Kaur Kondral MBE and Mr Narinder Mudhar (General Secretary of Brent Sikh Centre Kingsbury). Father Luke, The Ven. Luke Miller, The Archdeacon of London sent a special message for the meeting.

Bhajans were presented by Minaben Trivedi, Achlaben Miyani, Jayantibhai and Anila Bhatia.

The message of Anoopam Mission Head Pujya Sahebji was presented by Vinodbhai Nakarja (President Anoopam Mission UK), Message of BAPS Spiritual Head Pujya Mahant Swami was presented by Kesh Morjaria. Jayminiben offered prayers and paid tribute on behalf of the Brahmakumaris. Nityanand Ji offered Hindu Prarthna and Dr Vinodbhai Kapasee from the Jain community and Truptiben Patel (President HFB) on behalf of the Hindu Forum of Britain paid a tribute.

Lord Navnit Dholakia, Lord Rami Ranger and Lord Jitesh Gadhia also offered tribute to the late Queen.

Narendrabhai Thakrar (Chairman, Vallabh Nidhi Trust UK), Vrajbhai Pankhania (Chairman Westcomb Group), Dilipbhai Mithani (President Navnat Centre), Mukeshbhai Patel (Chair Shri Sattavis Gam Patidar Samaj), Kamleshbhai Patel (Shri Bavis Gam Patidar Samaj), Dineshbhai Sonchatra (Lohana Community North London), Pravinbhai Amin (Chairman National Association of Patidar Samaj), Kokilaben Patel (President Anand Overseas Brotherhood UK), Manhar Mehta (President Vanik Council UK), Kantibhai Nagda MBE (CEO Sangat Advice Centre), Krishna Pujara (Chair All Ladies League), Harishbhai Gadhvi, Pramodbhai Thakrar (Jalaram Prarthana Mandir Leicester), Sharadbhai Parikh (Chair Geeta Foundation), Varshaben Bavishi, Farida Verjee, Sakina Suterwala, Premji Varsani and a lot of representatives from British Indian Communities paid tribute to the late Queen. Sir Ashok J Rabheru’s message was presented by Consulting Editor of Gujarat Samachar Jyotsnaben Shah.

Managing Editor Gujarat Samachar Kokilaben Patel gave the introduction of team ABPL. Managing Editor of Asian Voice Rupanjana Dutta, Bureau Chief of Gujarat Samachar Nileshbhai Parmar and Marketing Manager of ABPL Poojaben Raval paid tribute to the late queen.

The Masters of the Ceremony were Mayuraben Patel, Krishnaben Pujara and Kantibhai Nagda MBE. A welcome note was given by ABPL Group Editor Mahesh Liloriya. A vote of Thanks was given by CB Patel, Chairman and Editor In Chief of Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar. Mayuraben Patel presented the Mahamrityunjay mantra at last.
