Harnaam Kaur writes inspirational letter to 11-year-old self

Harnaam Kaur has proven to be a very inspirational and positive role model for those who suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition which can cause excessive hair growth. She works as a body activist, helping to inspire confidence in other people. Harmaan Kaur has written a beautiful inspirational letter to her younger self with words of encouragement and advice.

Kaur had develop excessive facial hair at the age of 11 due to PCOS, and was relentlessly bully throughout her teens for her excessive body hair on her face, chest and arms. Affected by her condition and the constant bullying, Harnaam Kaur had even considered suicide at the age of 16.

She has now become the compelling and inspirational role model- one that she lacked while growing up. Kaur took part in Ilamasqua's #LetterToLittleMe campaign where they have encouraged women to compose letters to boost the morales of their younger selves.

To her 11-year-old self, Kaur wrote, “You have a heart of gold and you will empower many one day. Don't you see it? Can't you see just how amazing and beautiful you are?”

She further added, “I promise you that the world will one day read your story. You have no idea of just how many people will be inspired by your self-love, your strength, your self-empowerment. You will grow up to be a gorgeous young woman who will shake the normal societal standards of beauty. You will grow to be an activist, and you will mature to help men and women all over the world. You will show people what beauty truly is.”

Harmaan Kaur ended by thanking her younger self for her strength and braveness. She wrote, “Thank you for going through all those battles and hardships with strength. Thank you for making me the woman that I am today.”
