Every year Lord Mahavir's birth anniversary (Mahavir Janma Kalyanak) celebrations are organised by Jain All Party Organisation and Institute of Jainology which represent 32 organisations of the Jain religion in the UK. This year's online celebration was organised on 24 April 2022. The event was broadcast and celebrated by devotees worldwide.

Shri Mehool Sanghrajka, MBE who is the Managing Director of the organisation said, "Lord Mahavir's message is to be compassionate with all living beings as our lives are interconnected with each other. In this time of pandemic and the COP26 summit, the message is very meaningful. In the coming years, with reference to the programs organised for the conservation of the environment, we intend to organise this program at Westminster's Palace."

Gareth Thomas, who is the Chairman of Jain All Party Group and MP for Westminster, said in his welcome video message, "this group has served the society by organising several projects befitting the Jain community members and senior citizens". While Harrow (East) MP Padmashree Bob Blackman said that, "the principle of compassion practised by Jain's is very important and useful in the current age".

At the beginning of the program, The Jain Student Association affiliated with 'One Jain' presented their future plans that included establishing societies in the Universities and organising various events on a grand scale. Niraj Shah from the British army said that "If Jains join the army, it does not mean they have to compromise on their principles and lifestyle. In fact, it provides them with ample leadership and travel opportunities."

Every year as a part of Mahavir Janma Kalyanak celebrations the organisation honours the members of the society for their special contributions with awards. This year 'The One Jain Young Person's Award' was presented to Shri Amit Lathiya and 'The One Jain Excellence In Community Service Award' was presented to Shri Ashwin Mehta.

'Lifetime Achievement Awards' were presented to Late Dr Natubhai Shah (MBE) and Professor Kanti Maradiya for providing vital social services to the Jain community.

ABPL Group congratulates all the award winners.
