Gold Bangle Club, a new community onboarding South Asian women into the emerging world of Web3, the next phase of the internet, by combining culturally rich art with accessible education has opened its doors to women globally. To welcome the community, the female-led initiative is launching its first limited edition art collection and inviting people to tune into the free education available via Instagram and through listening to a seminar that took place earlier this week.

Titled ‘Patterns of Our Future’, the five stunning boxed canvas artwork pieces will be released on Monday 24 October to coincide with Diwali. The traditional Rangoli art depicted symbolises and celebrates the intricacies of South Asian culture. Created by the artist and co-founder of Gold Bangle Club Nirali Patel, in the piece, harmonious peaceful colours are paired with vibrant splashes to embody warmth and new beginnings.

Pairing the limited edition art with Web3 technology means owners will benefit from exclusive access to Gold Bangle Club events, network and bespoke education which includes live coaching on the steps to take to receive a digital proof of ownership.

The formation of the Gold Bangle Club is a direct response to data which shows that just 19% of the participants in Web3 are women and just a tiny fraction is South Asian women. The Club aims to level the playing field by providing a safe space for South Asian women to explore Web3, connect, network and crucially, have fun. Gold Bangle Club is inviting people to access free education via Instagram and through replaying the ‘Unlocking Web3: An Introduction’ event which took place earlier this week.

Hamisha Mehta, Co-Founder of Gold Bangle Club said: “Web3 is the next phase of the internet, yet recent statistics show just 19% of people involved in it are women, even fewer from ethnically diverse backgrounds. By bringing more diversity into Web3 from the early days, we can work together to ensure that a range of perspectives drive the evolution of a truly inclusive Web3. The innovation this could result in and the ideas that will emerge can really help to level the playing field, driving inclusivity in tech and the wider world. This is why Gold Bangle Club is welcoming and onboarding women from South Asian communities into this emerging and exciting space.”

Rakhee Shah, Co-Founder of Gold Bangle Club said: “Web3 is still in its’ infancy and so, rather than there being a specific role for women, what’s important is that women are active participants, that women are not left behind due to common barriers such as imposter syndrome or an assumption that this isn’t something for them. Gold Bangle Club has been formed to provide a safe space for South Asian women to explore Web3, connect, network and crucially, have fun along the way. I'd urge anyone that's curious to playback to the seminar which took place earlier this week, in which we unpacked the basics of Web3 and why it matters to your life today, and of course, to join our community.”

Nirali Patel, Co-Founder of Gold Bangle Club said: “As an artist, I want female creatives to explore Web3 because rather than being a space for those who are technologically minded, which is a common misconception, it’s the contrary, it’s a space for people from all walks of life. My vision through Gold Bangle Club is to provide the opportunity for every South Asian woman to see herself through my artwork. We hope that the offer of culturally rich artwork, like the limited edition pieces we are releasing to coincide with Diwali - ‘Patterns of Our Future’ - will resonate with women, reminding them of the importance of community, and together with accessible education, help more women get curious to explore this next phase of the internet.”
