YouGov conducted a survey in 2021 where more than 5,000 people in Britain were asked whether people agreed that "it is possible to believe in God and evolution" and it was found out Generation Z do not see science and religion as opposing forces at "war".

Britain's are not in favour of views that were expressed by Richard Dawkins in 1997 when the evolutionary biologist wrote that “faith is one of the world’s great evils, comparable to the
smallpox virus but harder to eradicate”.

In 2006, 42 per cent of people agreed with this sentiment and by last year, that had fallen to 21 per cent. In the same year, the proportion of people who identify as religious in Britain fell from
54 to 47 per cent.

Only 11 per cent of the youngest generation agreed that “you can’t be a good scientist and be religious”, compared with 13 per cent of Generation X.
