On 16th June LILY Against Human Trafficking held a fundraising reception for the girls of Nepal at risk of trafficking, especially after the horrific earthquake affected the country.

The reception hosted by Lord Verjee at Thomas Goode W1 and was successful in raising £65,000 for Nepal. Attended by Sharmila Tagore, Mr G.P. Hinduja, Siobhan. McDonagh MP, Baroness Margaret Jay, Dr Michael Adler, Joan Ryan MP, Musial Navin Kundra and a host of distinguished guests. Navin sang his own composition and joked that he was afraid to hit the high notes in a room filled with so many glass objects.
LILY Committee members Bina Rani and Shama Bhardwaj were supported by Sumitra Mishra. The volunteers group to support the evening was led by Richa Grover and all were London based alumni of Delhi's prestigious Lady Shri Ram College.

Mohini Kent Noon, Global Chairperson of LILY, said, Thousands of girls are already missing from refugee camps. Even before the earthquake, Nepal was a big source for women being kidnapped, sold or tricked into the sex trade. LILY Against Trafficking supports 5 projects in Nepal. Our Indian projects rescue Nepalese Bangladeshi and European girls from Indian brothels, and local girls.
