In a bizarre case, ornamental firearms from the home of a 70 year old went missing, a little over three months after his death. Police officers were called to the address by the Ambulance Service when callers to the address received no response.

On investigation, the man's death was counted as not suspicious and the guns were rendered safe before they were prepared to be brought to the Limehouse police station. However, officers were unable to find one of the boxes later, possibly containing six weapons. The missing arms have been reported to the Independent Police Complaints Commission by the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards. The IPCC is also investigating the incident independently.
