The High Commissioner of India, H.E Vikram Doraiswami addressed Conservative MPs in Parliament last week in an exclusive roundtable meeting headed by the Conservative Friends of India.

CF India took the lead in hosting the meeting to update Parliamentarians on the prospects of a looming Free Trade Agreement between the UK and India.

The High Commissioner took the opportunity to brief MPs about the future of UK-India relations, as well as an update on the geo-political situation, climate change and economic growth.

A particular issue raised by MPs was the process of securing visas. MPs mentioned that many constituents were struggling to secure visas and called for the return of e-visas. The High Commissioner promised to address concerns and would revert back.

The High Commissioner congratulated Conservative Friends of India on the role they played in strengthening bilateral links between the UK and India.

CF India is currently the largest affiliate group of the Party chaired by Ameet Jogia MBE and Reena Ranger OBE.
