Dr Hasmukh Shah honoured by the Royal College of General Practitioners, Wales

Gujarati origin, Dr Hasmukh Shah is a leading GP from South Wales and has been honoured with the Membership Under Ordinance Award by RCGP Wales at the Gala Awards 2019 held at the Exchange Hotel, Cardiff on 14 November 2019.

The honour from the RCGP, the professional body that represents 2000 General Practitioners across Wales, recognises Doctors who have made a significant contribution to Primary Care.

Dr Shah was congratulated by the President of the Royal College of General Practitioners UK, Professor Mayur Lakhani CBE, the Health Minister of Wales, Vaughan Gething AM and by his fellow GPs for receiving this rare honour.

In June 2018, Dr Shah received the British Empire Medal (BEM) from the Queen on her Birthday Honour's List. He is also the Secretary of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Doctors in Wales.

In September 2018, Dr Shah received a Lifetime Achievement Award by Asian Voice at the Grosvenor Hotel, London during the 18th Asian Achiever's Award's Ceremony and in July 2018, was also presented with a NHS 70 badge for his long standing service to the NHS at 10 Downing Street by the then Prime Minister Theresa May.

Another achievement for Dr Shah was when he was awarded the Visiting Fellowship by the University of South Wales in 2017 which was in recognition of his long standing contributions to the Medical Professional, Medical Education and charitable work to the people of Wales.
