Doctors call for Prostate Scan

A study suggests that MRI scans to test for prostate cancer will improve treatment and spare many men from having needless surgery.

The British researchers found that by combining MRI with ultrasound, it significantly improved the diagnosis of tumours and aided doctors to determine the most aggressive cancers.

Doctors hope that this method could permit men with less threatening cancers to avoid gruelling surgery or radiotherapy.
