Diwali in London-2018, DiL-2018, organised by the Mayor of London was launched at the BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir, Neasden on 2nd October evening.

The launch evening was attended by over 150 people including trustees and dignitaries from the various Hindu organisations, councillors, leader of the Brent Council Muhammed Butt, and Robert Lee from The Royal British Legion.

This year’s Diwali Festival on Trafalgar Square, which celebrates the Hindu, Sikh and Jain festival of lights, also includes remembering the role of (undivided) India during the First Great World War.

In this centenary year since the end of WW1, poppy made from Kadhi will be distributed to remember and thank all those from India who sacrificed their lives.

You can join thousands of tourists and Londoners at Diwali Festival on Sunday 28th October between 1 and 7pm, at Trafalgar Square and enjoy its exciting music and dance stage line up, complimented by the authentic aromas from the street food market and wander through the embellishing craft and community stalls with lots of activities and entertainment ranging for all ages!
