Divorce rates have reportedly dropped to their lowest level in 40 years as couples increasingly live together without being married or choose to walk down the aisle later in life.
There were 111,169 divorces in England and Wales in 2014 – a drop of 3.1% compared with 2013. The overall divorce rate fell to 9.3 per thousand married males and females – the lowest level for both sexes since 1974.
