The Harrow Masonic Centre was filled with hope and community spirit on Sunday, 5 July 2026, as the Asian Women Cancer Group (AWCG) hosted its highly anticipated Health & Wellbeing Awareness Day.
The event brought together healthcare professionals, local businesses, and residents to promote cancer awareness, early diagnosis, and overall wellness. Special guests the Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Yogesh Teli, and CB Patel, Publisher/Editor of Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar, delivered inspiring speeches praising AWCG’s vital support for cancer patients and survivors.
Inside, attendees accessed free GP-led health screenings, BMI assessments, and educational oncology talks hosted by specialists from Imperial College London. Outside, the atmosphere was lively with diverse food vendors, local artisan stalls, holistic therapy sessions, and a popular interactive visit from the London Fire Brigade.
The undisputed highlight of the day was the moving Cancer Survivors' Fashion Walk. Courageous survivors walked the red carpet to a standing ovation, radiating strength and proving that life after diagnosis can be lived with joy and dignity.
