A call has been made for people in Leicester to join in a moment of reflection in support for the people in India. As many of you know, India has been ravaged by a second wave of Covid-19, thousands have lost their lives and many of our loved ones in India are forced to stay indoors as part of lockdown.
The call has been backed by the Rt Hon. Keith Vaz who said "I urge everyone to join this movement and light a candle for India on Sunday 16th May. I will join in, will you?"
This Sunday between 7 to 8pm, step out onto your balcony, porch or driveway and light a candle, flashlight or phone. Encourage everyone you know to get involved. Share this via email at [email protected] and social media using #Candle4CovidIndia to show the people of India that they are not alone.
