The bravery of two women has been commended by the police, as their evidence against a man who sexually assaulted them resulted to him being sentenced to jail.
42-year-old Ajay Gorania, allegedly carried out six sex attacks and one offence of rape in Berkshire, between 2007 and 2013 against these two women.
Thames Valley Police arrested him and he was put on a two-week trial at Reading Crown Court, in October 2015.
A jury unanimously found him guilty of one count of rape of a female over 16, and five counts of sexual assault. He returned to the same court in February to be given his sentenced. He has been jailed for 17 years for his offences.
Detective Constable Amanda Winterbourne, led the investigation. She said, “I have huge respect for the two victims in this case, who have shown remarkable resilience and bravery. I hope the conviction will help them, knowing that justice has been done.”
