A teenager from Harrow has been named as the London St John’s Ambulance Cadet of the Year.
Niraj Doshi, 17, from Hatch End, beat 34 other cadets from across the country to earn the title.
The three-day competition was held at the Gilwell Park Scout Camp in north London in April, and saw the cadets assessed on a range of skills including first aid, teamwork, initiative under pressure, and leadership abilities.
This is the latest achievement for Mr Doshi, who joined the first aid charity four years ago and was also chosen as the Lord Mayor’s Cadet in November 2015.
Mr Doshi, who is currently studying for his A-levels at The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School, will be representing London St John Ambulance at a range of events in the capital over the next few months, These will include a royal reception at Buckingham Palace and the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph.
