Paresh Rughani is a man of humble origins with a vast vocabulary and a profound respect for others. This award-winning international motivational speaker embodies simplicity and a powerful commitment to uplifting those around him.

Although a qualified accountant, Paresh has been following his passion for public speaking with this skill, he has helped many corporations and their senior employees get empowered with motivation to progress, persevere and succeed. Paresh comes on the stage in an unassuming demeanour often initially misleading the audience but when he gets started with his humour and series of acronyms, he leaves the listeners mesmerised.

He has spoken or shall I say performed at numerous events which include the British Parliament and BAPs Mandir and Princes Trust. His audience has included Prime Ministers, CEOs, Bollywood stars, sports dignitaries and senior people from the voluntary sector. In these difficult times, speakers like Paresh bring hope and feel-good factor to their listeners. This is a powerful gift of kindness.

Paresh has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions. These include Pride of India, Stardust Global Icon, Jewel of India, Global Citizen, and GOPIO International just to name a few. This was recently and most appropriately topped by the award of Ambassador for Kindness Award conferred by Sustainable Development Goals which is the initiative in partnership with the United Nations, the Government of India and the Commonwealth.

Indeed 13th November is World Kindness Day and so this recognition of Paresh is so very relevant. Kindness is a value that focuses on positive power and often it is this common sense of kindness that binds us. It is a fundamental human condition which bridges the divides of race, religion, politics, gender and postcodes. In many ways, Paresh, with his presentations, cuts through such differences in society by becoming that catalyst that enables people’s minds to rise above such differences by motivating them to think positively.

Sometimes in one's career, you might tumble on what you might be more passionate about than your current activity. Paresh has shown that following your passion for something can bring rich rewards. There lies a great lesson for many of us. Paresh has also shown that humility brings valuable recognition. One does not need to self-praise. If you give freely, you will get rewarded without asking.

Perhaps this man’s humility and kindness emanate from the teachings of his Guru and father like me, the late Pujya Shree Pramukh Swami whose most famous teaching was ‘ In serving others is my seva’. Words of total Kindness.

We shall read and hear more about this Mr Motivator in time to come.
