Zahid Naseem, 47, a businessman and former director at a London stockbrokers, has been charged with the murder of a 29-year-old woman.
Christina Abbotts, a graduate of Oxford Brookes university, was found bludgeoned to death in a flat in Crawley after failing to turn up at her own birthday party on Friday night.
Mr Naseem, of Amersham in Buckinghamshire, appeared at Brighton magistrates' court on Monday, May 28.
