After 25 years as the editor of Vanity Fair owned by Condé Nast, Graydon Carter is succeeded by Radhika Jones, who served as an editorial director of the books department at the New York Times.

Radhika Jones, who is due to officially start in December, will be earning around $500,000 per annum, which is significantly less than her predecessor who was paid about $2 million a year.
