A 32 year old Indian-American physician was found dead in the passenger seat of his car on a highway near Detroit in Michigan last week. A research fellow at Henry Ford Hospital’s Vattikutti Urology Institute, Ramesh Kumar's body was found by authorities after his father Dr Narendra Kumar, former president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, reported that his son hadn't reached work that morning.

The third Indian-American case in 24 hours, a tech executive and his wife were killed in San Jose by their daughter's ex-boyfriend a day before. An autopsy has been conducted on Kumar's body. While local news have cited the murder as being racially motivated, authorities are yet to reveal the motive. Reports said that a colleague at the urology department notified Narendra that his son had not showed up for work. On not receiving any response despite repeated calls and messages, he reportedly drove to the victim's apartment only to find it empty.

Narendra then lodged a complaint with the police, only to be asked to wait as his son was just missing for a few hours. He approached the police again hours later, who conducted a search operation that found Kumar shot dead in the passenger seat of his car which was parked on the highway in Michigan. The body was identified and his parents informed.
