Lord Dolar Popat, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Uganda and Rwanda was honoured by Uganda’s President Museveni during Uganda’s recent 54th Independence Day celebrations.

Lord Popat was one of sixty people who were awarded with an Independence Day Medal for their contribution and services to Uganda.

Speaking to Asian Voice, Lord Popat said, “this honour is without a doubt one of the most cherished moments of my life, because Uganda is the country my birth. Forty five years ago I never imagined that I would return to Uganda, let alone represent the British Government here and be invited back to Uganda by the President himself.”
