Mahendra said that Vishal’s parents had emigrated to US about a decade ago. “Vishal first went to Canada and then moved to US. He was working in a convenience store there,” Mahendra told media.

The Nashville police said, “Two 15-year-olds from Kentucky have been charged with murder in Juvenile Court for the fatal shooting of Vishal Patel, 36, at the Kwik Sak, 4890 Lebanon Pike, last Monday afternoon.”

They added that after the accused teenagers entered the gas station and spoke with Vishal for a short time, one of them pulled a handgun and shot Vishal, a worker there. According to the press release, Vishal was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he passed away. In a stolen car the accused pair drove away from the scene. Police located the stolen car where the two teenagers were taken into custody. Police release further stated that both teenagers admitted to their involvement during an interview. The police department said that the duo was also involved in another robbery a day before they shot Vishal.
