Ottawa: Almost three months after his widely talked about trip to India, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau indulged in some self-deprecating humour and called it the “trip to end all trips.” While addressing an audience at Canada’s annual Parliamentary Press Gallery dinner, Trudeau presented a slide show titled ‘India Trip 2018’ with a sad face emoji, encouraging collective laughter from the audience.

Trudeau pointed out how he was received at the airport by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Gajendra Shekhawat. This was an obvious dig at the fact that the Indian Prime Minister or a cabinet minister did not come to receive him. PM Modi met Trudeau only on the last day of his visit.

The next slide showed him with Infosys Chairman, Salil Parekh. Trudeau took the opportunity to take a dig at the press members in the audience for not reporting that meeting because he was dressed pretty ‘boring.’ He went on to mock his sartorial choices (remember his glittering sherwani?), which were ridiculed both in the national and international media, with a slide showing him standing next to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

The slide show then shifted to his son Hadrien, who went viral on the internet and was a subject of a lot of memes for his apparent disinterest in the trip and the photo-ops in general. Trudeau ended the slide show with a picture of his wife, Sophie with the convicted Khalistani separatist Jaspal Atwal. He quipped how she also had many unforgettable moments during the trip, and how the media could not stop talking about the picture.
