The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto, Canada, marked a significant milestone in North American Satsang history on 16 October 2026 with the Murti Pratishtha Mahotsav of a 49-ft Tapomurti of Shri Nilkanth Varni, the youthful ascetic form of Bhagwan Swaminarayan.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Sadguru Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami and Pujya Anandswarup Swami, while HH Mahant Swami Maharaj joined virtually to bless the occasion and devotees.
India’s Consul General in Toronto, Mahaveer Singhvi, congratulated the temple authorities and devotees, praising the mandir’s work in community service, spiritual enrichment and preserving Indian cultural heritage. He highlighted the role of faith-based institutions in promoting compassion, harmony and community bonds.
Ontario Associate Attorney General Dr Michael A. Tibollo also attended, alongside a large gathering of saints and devotees who marked the spiritual milestone with reverence.
