Britain’s small businesses will hire thousands of people over the next year, even amid soaring inflation and rising interest rates. According to reports, private firms with revenue of less than £250 million, will create more than 6,000 jobs over the next 12 months as businesses look to expand in the UK and abroad.

The companies, which come from a wide range of industries and locations, currently employ nearly 21,000 people in total. Of those businesses, many plan to recruit new hands. Most of the other companies plan to add more jobs to support their continued growth, but did not say how many. Those going on the biggest hiring spree include London technology consultancy and digital, Darlington-based leisure operator Lane7, and Double Eleven, a video games developer in Middlesbrough.
