TiE London is a not for profit organisation that celebrates the unheard stories of budding entrepreneurs and professionals across London for their contributions to the UK economy. TiE Awards fosters entrepreneurship across 22 countries including India, America, Europe and Australia.

“TiE London Awards recognises and promotes entrepreneurs and business people in the capital who have made outstanding achievements in various categories such as technology, finance, entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship amongst others.

“It is established as a networking and profile-raising platform for celebrating the contributions made by both men and women from diverse communities,” said Nina Amin, President, TiE London.

Last year's TiE Awards saw headlining financial experts such as Rajeev Misra, CEO of Softbank’s Vision Fund, in conversation with Nina Amin. The discussion revolved around investment in disruptive technologies, an insight into crafting marketing pitches for small scale start-ups and the vision behind the largest technology fund ever raised of almost $100billion. Misra spoke openly of the fund’s investment strategy and shared interesting insights into the fund’s investments such as OYO.

“These awards also enable individuals to network with potential investors because funding in today's day and age is critical for most businesses especially for individuals with innovative ideas but limited capital.

“So, in a way we provide that platform for growing businesses to pitch to private equity firms, venture capitalists or angel investors among others,” said Amin.

Some of the winners last year included hotelier Surinder Arora of Arora Hotels, Vin Murria OBE and Priyanka Raswant, co-founder and CEO of Join Highbrow Ltd. among others. Raswant won the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award for her inspirational on-demand video platform for children’s educational content. At the end of the summer, she had a total of 25,000 videos on that list. The jury for these awards is carefully selected and last year it included Lord Jitesh Gadhia, Baroness McGregor-Smith, CBE, Dr. Vijay Patel, Alison Cooper, and Jean De Fougerolles as the esteemed judges.

The TiE London Awards has six categories – Entrepreneur of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Woman of the Year, Fastest Growing Business of the Year, Intrepreneur of the Year and The Chairman's Award.
