In a glitzy launch event that was attended by over 150 people including trustees and dignitaries from various Hindu organisations, DiL 2018 was launched at the BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir, Neasden on October 2. This year's Diwali celebration on Trafalgar Square, which celebrates the Hindu, Sikh, and Jain festival of lights, also includes remembering the role of (undivided) India during the First Great World War.

In this centenary year, since the end of WW1, POPPY made from kadhi will be distributed as a way to remember and be grateful to all those from India who sacrificed their lives. Also present at the launch event were Brent Council Muhammed Butt, and Robert Lee from The Royal British Legion.

Join thousands of tourists and Londoners at Diwali on October 28, between 1.00 and 7.00 pm, at Trafalgar Square. Exciting music and dance stage line up complimented with authentic aromas from the street food market arranged to entice you. Wander through embellishing craft and community stalls with lots of activities and entertainment ranging for all ages.
