In just a few short years, Sandea Wholesale has emerged as one of the most compelling success stories in British wholesale distribution proving that commercial ambition and community conscience can grow side by side.

Founded in 2020 by Sanjeet Manek, recognised as Entrepreneur of the Year 2023, Sandea was born from a clear and uncompromising vision: to build a modern, values-driven wholesale business that delivers reliability at scale while creating meaningful impact beyond the balance sheet. What began as a focused venture has rapidly evolved into an award-winning B2B distributor supplying market-leading FMCG products, OTC medicines, cosmetics, and toiletries to retailers and wholesalers across the UK and international markets.

At the heart of Sandea’s growth lies its commitment to consistency, care, and integrity. Through strong, trusted trading partnerships with leading suppliers, the company offers an extensive and continually expanding product portfolio at highly competitive prices. Every opportunity is approached with expert insight and a customer-first mindset, ensuring that client expectations are not merely met, but exceeded.

Known for its diversity, innovation, and operational excellence, Sandea has built a reputation as a dependable partner in a fast-moving sector. Its guiding philosophy, distributing with passion and delivering with care, is evident in every aspect of the business, from keeping essential products on shelves to forging long-term relationships with retailers, suppliers, and customers.

This dedication has been recognised through prestigious industry accolades, including Wholesale/Distributor of the Year, as well as national recognition for leadership and contribution to the British Asian community.

A night of roots, resilience and flavour

On 6 December 2025, Sandea Wholesale proudly took centre stage as the Headline Sponsor of a memorable evening dedicated to celebrating East African heritage, culture, and shared identity.

The event brought together multiple generations bound by a common history, one shaped by migration, resilience, and an enduring entrepreneurial spirit. More than a social gathering, it was a powerful reflection on the journeys that have defined the East African diaspora and a reminder of the importance of preserving cultural connections for generations to come.

The evening also marked a deeply personal milestone for Sandea Wholesale with the launch of Shamba Chilli Sauces, a product rooted in memory, authenticity, and heritage. Inspired by the bold flavours of Tanzania and crafted with uncompromising purity, Shamba is a tribute to East Africa’s rich chilli culture and a natural extension of Sandea’s commitment to quality, integrity, and storytelling through food.

Addressing the audience, Priya Virdi, Chief Operating Officer of Sandea Wholesale Limited, spoke movingly about the significance of the occasion. She described it as an honour for Sandea to support an evening centred on reconnecting with roots and celebrating the shared memories of East Africa that continue to bind so many within the community.

“At Sandea, we believe in distributing with passion and delivering with care,” she said. “Our role is simple but vital, to keep shelves full so communities always have access to the products they rely on every day.”

While the retailers have received recognition and awards for their work, yet, as Virdi emphasised, awards and expansion tell only part of the story. “What we are most proud of is our ethos,” she said.

“Transparency, Integrity, Service, and Excellence guide every decision we make.” She highlighted Sandea’s strong commitment to giving back, noting its ongoing support for community initiatives in Tanzania, Pakistan, and other regions, reflecting a belief that business should uplift the people and communities it serves.

Turning to the theme of the evening, Virdi reminded attendees that East Africa is more than a place of origin. “For many of us, it is the source of our resilience, warmth, entrepreneurial spirit, and shared identity,” she said. “Events like this keep that heritage alive, allowing us to honour the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the next generation.”

The launch of Shamba Chilli Sauces was a fitting tribute to that legacy. “Born in the streets and homes of Tanzania and now proudly crafted for the world, Shamba represents the true taste of East African chilli culture- bold, pure, and uncompromising,” she said. “This isn’t your everyday supermarket hot sauce. This is Shamba.”

Beautifully organised and rich with music, nostalgia, and shared memories, the evening successfully honoured heritage while looking confidently towards the future.
