India lifted the U19 Cricket World Cup for a record sixth time after thrashing England by 100 runs in the 2026 final in Harare. Led by Ayush Mhatre, India also set a record for the biggest margin of victory in an U19 World Cup final.
Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi starred with a stunning 80-ball 175, powering India to 411/9. Abhigyan Kundu and Kanishk Chouhan added crucial runs late in the innings as India crossed the 400 mark despite regular wickets.
Chasing a daunting target, England began positively with a half-century from opener Ben Dawkins, while Thomas Rew and Ben Mayes added quick runs. However, mounting scoreboard pressure triggered a middle-order collapse, leaving them at 177 for seven from 174 for three. After the match, he dedicated his Player of the Final award to the team’s support staff, praising their role in the squad’s preparation over the past several months.
Sooryavanshi’s knock, featuring 15 sixes and 15 fours, also saw him record the fastest 150 in U- 19 cricket, reaching the milestone in 71 balls, as India posted 411 for 9. The BCCI announced a Rs 7.5 crore cash reward for the champions.
