Independent filmmaker Priyankka S Saha’s debut feature, Anmol – ‘Lovingly Ours’, is set to make its international premiere at the upcoming London Indian Film Festival (LIFF).
The selection marks a major milestone for the film, which previously screened in the official competition at the Kolkata International Film Festival and at the Bengaluru International Film Festival.
Anmol explores the complexities of parental love and acceptance, cantering on the question: Can every child be seen and loved exactly as they are? The narrative examines how parents, motivated by love, often try to "fix" differences in their children, ultimately inviting audiences to reflect on identity and the courage required to embrace the unfamiliar.
Saha will attend the festival for post-screening Q&A sessions to discuss the process of making her independent debut and bringing it to the international stage.
LIFF runs from July 9–19, celebrating independent South Asian cinema. Anmol will screen at the following locations and times: on July 11: ICA London, July 12: MAC Birmingham and July 18: Forest Cinema, London.
