The veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has officially announced his latest cinematic venture, Aakhri Sawal, a politically charged drama set to explore a century of Indian history. Following his recent success as SP Chaudhary Aslam in the blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Dutt shared the news via a striking social media post that immediately captured the public's imagination.

Scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on May 15, the film aims to address "the question India never stopped asking" by delving into the complex 100-year legacy of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The story specifically focuses on a pivotal, yet historically obscured, episode from 1925 that reportedly altered the country’s trajectory.
The promotional poster features a gritty, burnt aesthetic layered with vintage newspaper clippings and protesters holding red flags, suggesting a narrative rooted in civil unrest and deep-seated mystery.

Directed by a yet-to-be-disclosed filmmaker, the project boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, and Sameera Reddy, alongside Tridha Choudhury and Neetu Chandra. This announcement marks a significant shift for Dutt, moving from the light-hearted savage persona fans adored in his previous outing to a more intense, profile-heavy role that challenges traditional historical textbooks. With post-production currently underway in Mumbai, the film is
positioned as one of the most anticipated political releases of the summer, promising to finally provide answers to long-standing national debates.
