Mollywood actor Dileep’s film titled Bha Bha Ba (Bhayam Bhakthi Bahumanam), his first release after his recent acquittal in the 2017 actress assault case, drew a massive audience on its opening day.

In the 2017 assault case of a sexual assault case of a South Indian actress, Dileep was accused of conspiracy and orchestrating the crime. While 6 people were found guilty, Dileep was acquitted of all the charges. Even after many actors taking a stand against Dileep, the industry decided to stand by him, and the biggest example is ‘Bha Bha Ba’, where Dileep’s co-star is Mohanlal.

The film, which was shot amidst the controversy, still remains as an eyesore for many Malayali audience who still refuse to believe that Dileep is innocent. The trending hashtag, # Avalkkoppam, made headlines as people protested to prohibit this film and took a stand for the victim. Now the question remains whether the film should be banned based on one actor or not, especially if the actor is the one primarily benefiting from the growing fame.
