Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Operation Sindoor, stating that the military campaign against Pakistan in early May demonstrated a new face of India to the world. During his first visit to Bengaluru since the operation, the Prime Minister asserted that India’s military successfully forced Pakistan to its knees within hours, a direct result of the nation's advancements in technology and indigenous defence manufacturing.

Modi's comments came after the Indian Air Force (IAF) chief had previously detailed how the 88-90-hour campaign had crippled Pakistan's systems, prompting them to seek a ceasefire. The Prime Minister's remarks also served to reinforce India's official position that no external party, including the United States, intervened to halt the military action.

Crediting the success to technology and the strength of Make-in-India in defence, Modi specifically highlighted the crucial role played by Bengaluru and its youth. A previous report had detailed the deployment of locally-made systems, including Sky Striker suicide drones from the private sector and Akash missiles from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). Additionally, the armed forces utilised a combination of domestic and international space defence assets, such as Bengaluru-built Cartosat satellites paired with imagery from global firms like Maxar, to ensure a decisive advantage.

The Prime Minister lauded Bengaluru as a symbol of new India's rise, describing it as a city that balances philosophical wisdom with technological expertise. He affirmed that the city’s vibrant ecosystem of innovation and manufacturing was central to the nation's emerging defence capabilities, which were so powerfully showcased during the recent operation.
