A BSF spokesperson announced that "An AK-47 assault rifle, two magazines, and 40 cartridges were discovered by the Border Security Force (BSF) in a field near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Ferozepur district." The seizure occurred during a BSF search operation on January 19, prompted by the observation of drone activity during the night of January 18 and 19. "This led to the discovery of a package wrapped in a white gunny sack, which, in addition to the firearms and ammunition, contained ₹40,000 in cash," the spokesperson stated. "The vigilant BSF personnel effectively thwarted the malicious intentions of individuals from across the border," the official added.
