Alia Bhatt has created quite the niche, establishing herself among the most successful Bollywood actresses. She has a massive fan following and is backed by an entire section of the film industry who vouch for her acting chops. While we all love her performances, her father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt begs to differ when people call her “the most gifted actor.”
In a recent media interaction, he said he doesn’t want his daughter to be burdened with “the delusion that she is the most talented actor.” He said, “First of all, using the most gifted actor for Alia is not the right thing because the industry is full of extraordinary talents. And I would not burden that girl of mine with the delusion that she is the most talented actor. She has had a successful inning so far based on her choices and the contributions of writers and directors to her brand.”
Mahesh then lauded Alia for bagging her first international project and said that “she has an interesting role” in the ‘Heart of Stone.’ Alia plays the role of the film’s villain, Keya Dhawan.
He said, “To reach Hollywood, you have to begin with a role that is engaging, and I bet she wouldn’t have done that if she wouldn’t have found it worthy of the time that she gave to it, and I don’t know what the entire script is unless she comes and gives me the script, but I believe she has an interesting role.”
Directed by Tom Harper, ‘Heart of Stone’ also stars Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi and Paul Ready. The movie will debut on Netflix on August 11, just before Independence Day in India.
