Veteran actor Dharmendra penned an emotional note to his wife Hema Malini and daughters Esha and Ahana for not personally inviting them to grandson Karan Deol’s recent wedding. He took to Instagram to post a note about his regret, seemingly blaming his old age for the error.

Sharing an old picture with his eldest daughter Esha, Dharmendra wrote a note addressing his daughters, sons-in-law and Hema. He wrote, “Esha, Ahana, Hema and all my darling kids ……loving Takhtani’s and Vohra’s l love you and respect you all from the core of my heart……age and illness is telling upon me I could have spoken personally to to you ……..but…”

Dharmendra was first married to Prakash Kaur and had sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and daughters Ajieta and Vijeta with her. Hema is his second wife. Earlier this month, Sunny's eldest son Karan married Drisha Acharya. While everyone from the Deol family attended the ceremonies, Hema and her daughters’ absences were noticed.

However, Esha did wish the new couple on their wedding. "Congratulations Karan and Drisha. Wishing you both a lifetime of togetherness and happiness (red heart and evil eye amulet emojis),” she wrote. Responding to her, Karan wrote on his Instagram Story, "Thank you so much.”

Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1953 when he was yet to make his Bollywood debut. While working in films, his closeness with the famous actress Hema Malini started growing and in 1980 the two tied the knot. Dharmendra and Hema appeared in films like 'The Burning Train,' ‘Sholay,’ ‘Raja Jani,’ ‘Baghavat,’ ‘Dharm Aur Qanoon’ and ‘Do Dishayen.’

On the work front, Dharmendra will soon be seen in director Karan Johar's film ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film is all set to release on July 28, 2023. Apart from that, he also has Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's upcoming untitled romantic film.
