Actor Chiranjeevi gave lyricist Chandrabose Chiranjeevi a grand welcome as he hosted him to celebrate his Oscar win for ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR.’ He took to Twitter and said it was wonderful to know that the first-ever Telugu words to be heard on the Oscar stage came from him.
Chiranjeevi shared pictures as Chandrabose was seen on the sets of the actor’s upcoming Telugu film ‘Bhola Shankar.’ In the first picture, Chiranjeevi was seen holding the Oscar trophy and Chandrabose's hand as they smiled. He also hoisted the trophy while hugging Chandrabose.
Another photo showed the film's team posing for a photo with Chiranjeevi and Chandrabose, who held a flower bouquet and had a red shawl around him. Chiranjeevi captioned the post, “What a wonderful feeling that you gave the first ever Telugu words to be heard on the Oscar stage in 95 years!! Elated to relive those moments through you & heartened to welcome you home after the victorious march to the #Oscars95 (sic).”
Recently, the veteran actor honoured SS Rajamouli and composer MM Keeravani for bringing home the Academy Award for ‘RRR’ at his son Ram Charan’s birthday bash. A day later, he hosted Chandrabose at his home.
‘RRR,’ directed by SS Rajamouli, is a fictional story set in the 1920s pre-independent era. The film is based on the lives of two real heroes and well-known revolutionaries – Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram Charan played Ram, Jr NTR was seen as Bheem. It grossed over ₹1200 crore worldwide during its theatrical run and was massively celebrated for its action sequences. The film is currently running in Japan, where it has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
