In Kerala's southern Kollam district, Chadayamangalam Police have reported an instance of a man sexually abusing cows. The perpetrator of the weekend bestiality at a farm has been taken into custody by the police. The accused named Mani, a Peredam local, badly mistreated the animals. The crime was discovered in the early hours of last Sunday. When the farm workers arrived at the cow shed around one in the morning, they heard the cries of the cattle; however, Mani leaped over the compound wall and ran away. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the offender was later recognised and the police were notified. Mani admitted of mistreating the cows sexually. He has been kept in detention on remand. The police are currently investigating whether the accused has committed similar crimes against animals earlier. Last year, dairy farmers had come out against a man who used to abuse domestic animals and cattle in a similar manner.
